In the idyllic Peak District village of Longnor, near Buxton
Ruby Cottage is a cosy, comfortable cottage located in a quiet spot in the village of Longnor in the Peak District National Park. Longnor is centrally located being only 6 miles from the historic spa town of Buxton and 8 miles from Bakewell and its famous puddings. The cottage has been carefully renovated to retain much of its original character with exposed stonework, stripped pine doors and a wood burning stove. There is a small enclosed south facing garden to the front of the property and plenty of on road parking available. The cottage sleeps two people. A cot, high chair and baby bath are also available. One small dog is welcome.

Learn MoreLongnor has all the day to day shops you need for your holiday including a general store (open 7 days a week), Post Office, fish and chip shop, and Sweetilicious sweet shop. The Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese pub has recently undergone a major refurbishment and is a great place to eat and relax. The village also has its own fish and chip shop (for takeaways and eating in) is well renowned. There are many other good pubs within a few miles radius and Buxton, Bakewell and Leek all have a great selection of pubs and restaurants. Longnor is a beautiful village location and there are many spectacular walks straight from the cottage door, with car free cycle trails and cycle hire only a short drive. The spa town of Buxton is just six miles away with its Opera House, Pavilion Gardens and plentiful shops. The grand houses of Chatsworth, Haddon Hall and Lyme Park are all within easy reach.
